Vinyl LP repressing of this 1963 release. It wasn't until the late fifties that the jazz-inspired rhythmic freedom and melodic spontaneity which Brazilian musicians were applying to their native music began to attract the attention of visiting U.S. jazzmen. Some of them, fascinated by what they had heard, began to play their versions of the bossa nova back home. Nothing could be more fitting than a union of this newest of jazz trends with one of the most durable of jazz masters: Coleman Hawkins.
